Rye is a stay-at-home dad and werewolf. He has hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and is an ambulatory wheelchair user. While he is still a work in progress, with the aim of doing in-camera werewolf transformations with his puppet. He has a steel ball and socket armature, with cast silicone hands, and a 3d printed head. His body is padded with a foam interfacing, and he has a fabric skin suit.

His armature is made of a combination of steel joints and limbs and 3d printed chest and hip blocks. His joints are made using parts from Morezmore, with the rods and balls for the limbs being cut and soldered to fit his measurements. His feet and ankles are structured to allow for a werewolf transformation.

werewolf transformation
While it is still a work in progress, Rye's puppet is designed to be able to transition between his human form and his wolf form. This will be accomplished primarily through replacement animation. His faces and ears attach magnetically, and he has a replacement sequence for both.

Mobility aids
Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a connective tissue disorder and a dynamic disability; because of that, Rye uses a variety of mobility aids. These include his wheelchair, forearm crutches, and braces, such as his knee brace and AFOs. Additionally, he has a J-tube through which he receives nutrition. These pieces mix 3D-printed elements with fabric and metal parts. All mobility aids are fitted to Rye's body on the advice of people who use these devices.
Rye's faces are 3d modeled using a combination of Maya and Nomad Sculpt. They are hand-painted with acrylic paints and detailed with powder pigments. They are finished with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel and Alclad Klear Kote Flat.
